U14s 25.01.2015 This weekend saw both under 14 teams in action in Newbridge College. West Leinster Cup saw Newbridge U14s second team take on Abbeyleix. Both teams started strong but Newbridge soon broke away with fantastic displays of clever joined up hockey and goal scoring ability. 1st years division D team put up a great fight against a very strong Skerries team. Name? Nicky O'Farrell How long have you played hockey? I played in school. I joined newbridge last season. Why did you decide to play with Newbridge HC? I wanted to play in a competitive sport. Newbridge 1st's off to a winning start in 2015

Newbridge 3 Bray 2 Newbridge Ladies 1st hockey team got the new year off to a fantastic start with a well deserved home victory over Bray 1st. The cold January afternoon did not put a stop to Newbridge's determination to start 2015 on the right foot. Bray had to start without a goalkeeper as she had been delayed. Newbridge were unable to take advantage of this as Bray packed their defence until their goalkeeper arrived ten minutes into the match. Transition Year - Youth Leader Programme

The Youth Leader Programme is run in conjunction with the Irish Hockey Association with its aim being help younger members prepare for full participation in their Club as they progress to adult hockey. Participants are taught the basic skills of coaching, umpiring and team management and then participate as leaders during our Junior Club sessions. In Newbridge HC we always ensure a Youth Leader works with an adult coach but our aim is to give the young person guidance and encouragement so they can develop their own leadership personality. Back in Action for 2015

Newbridge HC is back in action for the clubs 20th season this week, with senior training commencing on Monday 5th Jan. A huge well done to all of those who dragged themselves off the couch and dusted off the cobwebs. Senior training continues tonight, Wed 7th Jan and going forward will be every Monday and Wednesday in K Leisure Naas @ 7.25pm. There are 9 weekends left in this season so make the extra effort to get out to training and games, as you know you will miss it when its over for the season!
