How long have you been with Newbridge HC? 10 years
Lynda you're from Countae Ciarrai, did the decision to join Newbridge HC help with the move? Definitely. When I moved up at first I knew only one person in the area and thought I'd be here for a year or so, but through hockey I've made many friends and am still here. I don't usually get home from October until April except for Christmas!
Do you play any other sports / activities? Gym and swimming at the moment. Have played a bit of everything over the years though
Favourite Sports Person? Colm Cooper
Biggest influence on your sporting life so far? My parents I suppose, growing up we were always out playing something; basketball, soccer, football, tennis, badminton, swimming and I took up hockey in secondary school. My mum still plays badminton competitively!
Best advice someone has ever given you? Don't sweat the small stuff
Favourite music? My ipod is a mixed bag but Ed Sheeran at the moment
Favourite movie? Depends on my mood but Life of Brian, Cool Runnings, The Green Mile, The Beach, Shawshank Redemption, Bridesmaids
Who’s the tough nut of the team? There's two, Martina for the broken bones and Catchy for taking the opposition out of it any chance she gets
Who’s the quickest? Caoimhe or Jane I reckon
Who’s the joker of the team? Natalie "Nicki Minaj"
Who’s the worst time keeper on the team? Susan, except for last Monday night
We know you are on the road to recovery at the moment, any advice for someone coming back from injury? You have to work hard to recover, but be patient and then be a bit more patient. Ice is your friend. Eating and sleeping well are more important than you think.
