Newbridge Hockey Club are VERY proud to announce the launch of our Hockey 4 All programme in conjunction with the IHA and Kildare Local Sports Partnership.
We had 15 people complete Disability Inclusion Training on Saturday, delivered by Áine Coogan (KSP Sports Inclusion Development Officer). We also have 4 futher volunteers as part of the programme bringing the total number of volunteers to 19.
Volunteers are a mixture of current coaches, youth leaders and parents from out Junior section.
The enthusiasm and the willingness is simply fantastic to see.
Newbridge College have been kind enough to allow us to use their pitches as the location of the project, which really is invaluable.
So what is Hockey 4 All?
This is a FREE programme run over 6 weeks, with the central aim being to provide regular hockey training sessions for children and teenagers with a disability at a local level.
This is the ONLY programme of its kind in the whole of Ireland so to say we are beyond excitement is an understatement.
Sessions will commence on Sunday 19th April at 10.45am- 11.30am for children/ teenagers aged 6yrs-16yrs in Newbridge College.
