Sharon Whelan Junior Co-ordinator, Newbridge Hockey Club Committee
Job Purpose
To co-ordinate and deliver a high quality coaching programme for the Newbridge U14 girls team that increases participation and performance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To create and implement a high quality coaching programme, to maximise participation and performance of competitive teams;
To undertake the necessary planning for each activity session to ensure the programme demonstrates progression throughout,
To create pathways for continued participation at U16s level;
To adhere to Newbridge Hockey Club’s Code of Ethics and Conduct for Sports Coaches
Personnel Specification
Qualifications - Desirable
Hold a valid First Aid Certificate;
Hold a Stepping Stones or Level One Coaching Qualification
Experience - Desirable
1 years sports coaching experience in a paid or voluntary capacity.
Skills & Competencies - Essential
Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have the ability to delegate effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong planning ability with excellent organisational skills
Must be self-motivated with the ability to enthuse a wide range of participants
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage a group of participants effectively
Attend all fixtures/training sessions
Resilient with a can do attitude

This is a volunteer role however in lieu of remuneration Newbridge Hockey Club will arrange for you to complete you hockey coaching courses, and any other courses that are beneficial to your development as a coach.
