Background
In recent years, Newbridge HC has gone through a number of challenges, however many of our developing junior players have stepped up to the senior squad, while a number of ‘older’ experienced players were moving on. The 2017/18 season saw the team work incredibly hard to gain promotion to Division 6, and winning the Div 7/8 Cup final.
Newbridge HC has a strong junior section, therefore we are looking for a coach to support, and further develop these talented players into the senior squad. We also recognise the need to encourage more experienced senior players back into the ladies side of the club, with a structured coaching approach.
The team are looking to make a real impact in Division 6 next season, therefore this will be a rewarding opportunity for an incoming coach.
The successful applicant (will be non-playing), and should be available for training 2 evenings per week as well as travelling to team matches.
Please note we endeavour for the ladies to train twice per week, however please note this may be subject to availability/commitment of the players.
Job Purpose
To co-ordinate and deliver a high quality coaching programme for the Newbridge Ladies Senior team that increases participation and performance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To create and implement a high quality coaching programme, to maximise participation and performance of competitive teams;
To undertake the necessary planning for each activity session to ensure the programme demonstrates progression throughout,
To ensure all equipment associated with the coaching programme is correctly set up, maintained, stored and returned on completion of the coaching programme
To adhere to Newbridge Hockey Club’s Code of Ethics and Conduct for Sports Coaches

Desirable
Hold a valid First Aid Certificate;
Hold a Level One Coaching Qualification
Experience
Essential
A minimum of 1 years sports coaching experience in a paid or voluntary capacity
Skills & Competencies
Essential
Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have the ability to delegate effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong planning ability with excellent organisational skills
Must be self-motivated with the ability to enthuse a wide range of participants
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage a group of participants effectively
Attend all fixtures/training sessions
Resilient with a can do attitude
Remuneration negotiable.
