Location: Newbridge College & K Leisure Naas
Hours (per week): Monday 7.30-8.30 (Naas) Sunday 12-1.30pm (Newbridge College)
Responsible to: Sandra Whelan Junior Co-ordinator, Newbridge Hockey Club Committee
Background
Last year our U16 1st team played at the highest level in the Dublin league, we had high quality players who played premier school hockey and also an Irish u-16. This year we will lose these players to our seniors. We will have a good bunch of players coming through with good potential. Our 2nd team will be of average standard. Our long term aim is to bridge the big gap in standard between both teams and also to bring our stand out players to a higher standard. We would endeavour for the girls to train twice per week, Sunday morning and Monday evening, however please note this may be subject to availability/commitment of the players.
Job Purpose
To co-ordinate and deliver a high quality coaching programme for the Newbridge U16 girls team that increases participation and performance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To create and implement a high quality coaching programme, to maximise participation and performance of competitive teams;
To undertake the necessary planning for each activity session to ensure the programme demonstrates progression throughout,
To ensure all equipment associated with the coaching programme is correctly set up, maintained, stored and returned on completion of the coaching programme
To adhere to Newbridge Hockey Club’s Code of Ethics and Conduct for Sports Coaches

Qualifications
Desirable
Hold a valid First Aid Certificate;
Hold a Level One Coaching Qualification
Experience
Essential
A minimum of 1 years sports coaching experience in a paid or voluntary capacity,
Skills & Competencies
Essential
Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have the ability to delegate effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong planning ability with excellent organisational skills
Must be self-motivated with the ability to enthuse a wide range of participants
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage a group of participants effectively
Attend all fixtures/training sessions
Resilient with a can do attitude
Remuneration of €20 per hour for level 1 coach, €15 per hour for experienced coach. Please note game time capped at 2.5hrs (including travel time).
